Setup
- Set a home-plate marker and a first-base marker 30 feet apart.
- A second-base marker another 30 feet to the left of first.
- She starts at home.
How it works
- On “go!”, she sprints to first — but about 10 feet before the bag, she curves to the RIGHT slightly (“banana out”).
- Her curve brings her back INTO first in a line that points at second base.
- Her left foot hits the inside corner of the base as she runs past.
- She keeps her body leaned toward second, eyes on the coach or ball.
- If you yell “second!”, she keeps running to second. If you say “back!”, she stops and returns.
Watch for
- She curves BEFORE the bag — not at the bag, which creates a sharp slowing turn.
- Left foot hits the INSIDE corner of the bag — shortest path to second.
- She doesn't fully stop — she's always moving, looking, ready to advance.
What to say
Banana out, then in.
Inside corner with the left foot.
Eyes on the coach.
Yes — perfect turn!
